With the 2022-2023 school year right around the corner, schools throughout the district have been opening their doors early to welcome new students over the past several weeks.
Orientations for kindergartners, new students, sixth graders, and freshmen began Aug. 22, and have continued through Aug. 31.
At Cedar Grove Elementary School, for example, Principal Stacey Monetti (right) showed incoming kindergartners and new students around the school Aug. 24, starting their journey toward becoming "proud Patriots."
“It was a very successful morning!” Monetti said.
Intermediate East welcomed its incoming sixth graders Aug. 24, and Beachwood Elementary showed its new kindergartners around on Aug. 25.
Yesterday, High School North Assistant Principal Chris Blessing did "a fantastic job," according to sources, giving incoming freshmen a lay of the land at the district's largest school.
It's all in an effort to provide students a level of comfort and to ease the transition to a new school year.
