Rush hour traffic was moving at a crawl in both directions and the two right lanes of the northbound lanes remained closed as of 5 p.m. on Friday.

A sheet could be seen covering the scene where the accident occurred and State Police troopers could be heard requesting a medical examiner.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office issued an email alert to the public warning of traffic delays throughout the area.
