Police Requesting Help to Identify Vehicle and Driver

Police Requesting Help to Identify Vehicle and Driver in Ocean County

According to the Ocean County Sheriff's Office, on June 30 at approximately 11am, a traffic stop was attempted by this agency near the intersection of Hooper Avenue and Brick Blvd.

The vehicle pulled in to the Brick Mall and parked behind the building. After parking the driver proceeded to reverse the vehicle striking the patrol vehicle, drive forward striking a red dumpster and flee the scene.

The vehicle was last seen traveling on Hooper Avenue towards Cedar Bridge Avenue in Brick Township. The vehicle is a newer model Honda Civic Hatchback, black in color, and has an unknown New Jersey Temporary Registration starting with the letter “C”. The vehicle will have driver side front end damage with potential red paint transfer and rear driver side bumper damage.

The driver is described to be a Hispanic male with black hair and was wearing a black hat. Anyone that may be able to identify this vehicle or the driver please contact Detective Vanderveen at jvanderveen@co.ocean.nj.us
