Popcorn Park is Holding a Contest
The four cats were originally housed by the Cherry Brook Zoo in Canada, but they were transferred after the zoo closed its doors for good. The African lions, who are siblings and both are eight years old.

Popcorn Park, where they will find refuge for the remainder of their lives, after two years of planning and preparation.
The Granby Zoo in Granby, Ontario, Canada, which had been housing and caring for the four big cats until arrangements for their arrival could be finalized, sent all four of them to Popcorn Park. Their rescue mission has undoubtedly been a long one, but it has also been highly rewarding due to the pandemic's hurdles as well as the complexities of traveling abroad.
They will be under close observation by Popcorn Park's medical team and expert Refuge staff while they grow accustomed to their new surroundings. They are taking active steps to make sure the transition to their new homes is as seamless as possible.
Visitors visiting the Refuge should be understanding and respectful during their time of transition, as they try to minimize their stress and establish new daily routines. AHS Popcorn Park is holding a contest to rename these beautiful cats and give them a complete fresh start at life.
