Power Outages Across New Jersey as Severe Weather Approaches
As the weather worsens, thousands of Garden State customers from North Jersey to South Jersey are without power.
According to the most recent forecast, severe thunderstorms with strong winds and flooding are predicted to hit the Garden State on Monday, putting sixteen counties under a tornado watch.
Electric companies are rushing to deal with power outages as wind gusts reached 50 mph on Monday afternoon and are predicted to reach up to 80 mph in some areas of the state.

Forecasters from the
National Weather Service are advising everyone to be "weather aware" on Monday.
The threat for severe thunderstorms will increase through the afternoon and evening as storms spread from west to east across the area.
