According to the National Weather Service a low pressure system will impact the region on Friday.

Some icy spots are possible in the morning hours (N+W) with periods of rain expected everywhere by the afternoon.

NWS also be tracking a warm front that will lift northward on Friday. Temperatures may reach well into the 50s south of the front, while temperatures north of the front will be limited to the low to mid 40s.

Is everyone prepared to see the salt washed away? Beneficial rainfall is anticipated on Friday. Light to moderate rain is expected to begin in the morning, continuing into the evening and tapering off overnight.

According to Accuweather, this storm is expected to deliver a significant amount of precipitation to the Northeast until Friday, predominantly in the form of rain across most regions.

However, as the precipitation begins to arrive in the early morning hours of Friday, locations in Pennsylvania and New York experiencing subfreezing temperatures may encounter potential ice accumulations due to freezing rain, particularly during the hours before dawn.

Total precipitation is projected to be between 0.25 and 0.75 inches, with localized amounts reaching up to 1 inch in areas near and south of the Philadelphia metropolitan region.

There has been winter advisories issued for some parts of New Jersey. The winter weather alerts will be in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday in Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties, and from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday in the western parts of Passaic County.

In these regions of New Jersey, meteorologists anticipate morning rainfall; however, due to ground temperatures ranging from the upper 20s to low 30s, the rain is likely to freeze upon contact with cold surfaces. Drive with caution.
