Prepare for Severe Weather Approaching the Jersey Shore

According to the National Weather Service, you can expect plenty of stong wind and rain across the area this afternoon. Be prepared before you go out.

Strong wind gusts, localized flooding, and downpours prior to the arrival of cold weather. During today's downpours, winds of 30 to 50 mph have the potential to damage before cold, winter-like air arrives tomorrow morning.

Power outages may result from coastal gusts that are close to 50 mph from the south throughout the day. Consequently, eastern New Jersey's coastline and coastal regions are under a Wind Advisory.

Inland parts of the state will experience winds of 25 to 40 mph, particularly during rainstorms. The prediction calls for 1-2" of precipitation, which might cause localized flooding.

Throughout the day, rainstorms are predicted to come and go. Even when it's not raining, there will be mist, and the wind only makes it worse. Near lunchtime, a thunderstorm squall sweeps across the state, marking the height of this gloomy and rainy day.
