NJ Friday Forecast: Prepare for the Coldest Day This Season
Prepare yourself for the coldest day of the season so far.. It's going to be cold on Friday!
A cold front that passed across the Northeast on Thursday is bringing a wave of frigid air into the area. In certain locations, Thursday afternoon wind gusts exceeded fifty miles per hour.
On Friday, the wind will not be as strong. Throughout the day, wind gusts will remain between 20 and 25 miles per hour, but any exposed skin will still feel the bite. In most locations, morning wind chills will be in the single digits to teens according to National Weather Service.
By Friday afternoon, highs will be in the 30s and wind chills will be in the 20s. In the Catskills, it’ll be even colder.
On Saturday, the wind chill will still be an issue even if the winds will continue to calm.
Temperatures will eventually rise as winds gradually slow down over the weekend and into the following week. By Sunday, the temperature will return to the upper 40s, which is almost typical for this time of year.
In fact, temperatures will peak in the mid-50s toward the middle of next week, which is typical for this season. However, compared to what we have to anticipate throughout the first part of the weekend, it will feel like beach weather.
