New Jersey is under a wind advisory on Wednesday that could result in isolated power outages due to gusts of up to 50 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, the wind advisory will be in force for the majority of the state from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Winds of 20 to 30 mph have the potential to gust up to 50 mph.

The advisory runs from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. for the five northeast counties of Union, Hudson, Passaic, Essex, and Bergen. 20 to 25 mph winds have the potential to gust to 40 to 50 mph.

Winds have the potential to break tree limbs, blow around loose objects, and cause power outages.

It's more likely to be a partly sunny day with highs in the mid to upper 40s in most places, but rain and snow showers are still possible.

For the first time this year, temperatures in far southern counties, such as Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem, are predicted to reach 50 degrees.
Thursday will be sunny and dry, with highs in the upper 30s and low 40s, which is about typical for late January.

According to AccuWeather.com, the northern half of the state is expected to experience temperatures of 10 degrees or lower during the morning hours.

According to the weather service's morning forecast discussion, Friday will be "unsettled" with a chance of half an inch to an inch of rain.
