On Monday, more than fifty Red Lobster restaurants in twenty-one states, including New Jersey, shuttered unexpectedly.

TAGeX Brands, a liquidation company, also revealed an online auction of Red Lobster's furnishings, kitchen appliances, and other items from numerous locations. The auction began at 3 p.m. on Monday and will run through Thursday.

Some Red Lobster establishments are CLOSED as of right now. We are holding an auction on our restaurant equipment marketplace, where we are offering over 50 sites nationwide. The firm states that these auctions are winner-take-all, with the winner receiving the full inventory of the Red Lobster store they bid on.

Regarding the shutdown, Red Lobster has not released any statements to the public, and Patch did not respond to a request for comment right away.

Four Red Lobster locations in New Jersey are marked as closed on their website, including:

  • Bridgewater, 1271 U.S. Route 22
  • East Brunswick, 750 Highway 18 North
  • Lawrenceville, 3255 Brunswick Pike
  • Ledgewood, 303 Route 10
  • The "Ultimate Endless Shrimp" promotion from Red Lobster last year was supposed to be a one-time deal, but it attracted so many new customers that the restaurant decided to add it to its permanent menu in June. Consumers devoured it, and the business recorded $12.5 million in losses for the fourth quarter of 2023, according to the site.
