Armando died Friday, July 19, 2024 at his home.
Born in Pt. Pleasant, he lived in Seaside Heights, before moving to Toms River 35 years ago.
Mr. Cocci was an Ocean County Sheriff’s Officer for over 25 years before retiring in 2009 as a Captain. He served in law enforcement for over 33 years in total.
A standout athlete, he attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa where he was an All-American Defensive End as well as a Division 1 wrestler before being signed by the Kansas City Chiefs.
He is also a member of Central Regional High School’s athletic Hall of Fame. Upon returning to New Jersey he owned the popular Seaside Heights restaurant “Mr. Skip’s” and embarked on a career in law enforcement.
Upon his retirement he enjoyed spending his time socializing with his beloved friends, cruising, and being with his grandchildren.
Mr. Cocci is survived by his wife Deborah; his oldest son Armando “Skip” Monnie Cocci III and wife Kristin Virginia Cocci, and their sons Armando Maximus Cocci IV and Xavier Alexander Cocci; his youngest son Rodney Amos Cocci and wife Stephanie Melissa Cocci, their son Lincoln Hawk Cocci and daughters Octavia Francesca Cocci and Bellatrix Sophia Cocci; His grandchildren Tavian and Tayden Tavares, from Step-son Vincent Tavares; His sister Joan Lockwood and her husband Charles “Buck” Lockwood, their children Brenda Lorenz and Charles “Chuck” Lockwood; His nephews Armand, James, Joseph, Anthony, and Peter Woldanski, and niece Diane Woldanski Bernadino; and cousin MaryJo Pisciotta.
He is predeceased by his parents Armando Monnie Cocci Sr, and Josephine Cocci and his sister Rose Cocci Woldanski.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 4-8pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ.
A mass will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 10 am at St. Joseph RC Church in Toms River. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River.
