Renowned New Jersey Meteorologist Dies at Age 67

Dave Frankel Dies at Age 67

After a protracted fight with neurodegenerative disease, respected TV weatherman Dave Frankel of the Philadelphia-based WPVI channel 6 Action News team passed away on Wednesday. He was sixty-seven.

The news was shared on his personal Facebook page by his wife, Marjie. Marjie mentioned earlier this month that Dave had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia, a type of dementia, years prior.
Born and raised in Monmouth County, Frankel started working as an investigative reporter at WPVI-TV in 1984. In 1989, he made the switch to the AccuWeather team, where he would stay for six years.

Frankel was the station's first technology reporter in 1996. When Frankel left broadcast television, he would go on to become a lawyer.
Service for Frankel will be held Sunday, March 2 at the Inn at Villanova University, which is located on 601 County Line Road in Wayne.

Donations in his memory are encouraged to Alex's Lemonade Stand, a charity which he loved.
