According to Toms River Township Government, following the recent replacement of water mains on Washington Street, Brooks Road, Dock Street, Maiden Lane, Hyers Street, Hooper Avenue, Allen Street, and Robbins Street, SUEZ crews and contractor Earle Asphalt are expected to begin their roadway paving project throughout downtown Toms River later this week.
Weather permitting, the night paving project will begin on or about Friday night, April 15, 2022, and will last through Friday night, April 22, 2022.
The streets will be milled and repaved by Earle Asphalt. The milling process involves removing around 2 inches of old asphalt and replacing it with fresh asphalt.
All paving will take place at night, with employees working from around 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting.
Where the paving project is taking place, there may be some temporary traffic disruptions, and Washington Street in both directions will be temporarily closed with adequately posted diversion signs to warn vehicles and residents of the impacted areas. Drivers are advised to exercise caution when passing through construction zones.
