According to Ocean City Firefighters Association, over the weekend, a sailboat ran aground in Ocean City, prompting the rescue of two passenger.

About 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, along 22nd Street and the beach, the yacht was reported to be in difficulty, according to Ocean City firemen. The scene was attended to by firefighters, Ocean City police, and beach patrol.

Firefighters reported that a sailboat, approximately 40 feet in length, was disabled and in difficulty. It started to get beaten by the waves as it got closer to the sandbar.

The ship grounded, and the two occupants were rescued, according to firefighters. One was admitted to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"A fast response and team effort lead to a positive outcome for the individuals involved," firefighters stated.
