Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company Discovers Medallion Through Coin Toss
On Saturday, a coin with a very different worth was found during a coin toss fundraiser. The Point Pleasant Beach Fire Company 2 is working to return the coin to its proper owner.
The fire department posted a picture of the medallion it discovered among the coins it collected during the fundraiser at the Route 35 bridge on its
Facebook page.
At a coin toss fundraiser, firefighters hold out buckets or fire boots to passing cars at a red light, and drivers throw in whatever they feel like, including dollar bills and spare change from their pockets or handbags.
The coin in question has an inscription that reads: "
To my son never forget that I love you forever" with a heart, and around the perimeter of the coin it reads "I hope you believe in yourself as much as I believe in you."
The fire company said the owner can send them a message on Facebook, or contact the fire company by email at station43ppb@gmail.com to arrange to for its return.
