Man Critically Injured in Head-On Crash on Rt. 70

Late on Wednesday night, a driver on Manchester's Route 70 attempted to pass two vehicles, striking a man from Mercer County, seriously injuring him in the process, according to Manchester police.

At the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune on Thursday, Jake Fee, 22, of East Windsor, was reported as critically but stable, according to Manchester Lt. Albert Vega.

At 11:24 p.m., Vega reported an accident on Route 70 near milemarker 34.5.

According to Vega, Scott Steward, 61, of Browns Mills, attempted to pass two cars by straddling the center line while traveling west on Route 70 in a 2014 Acura MDX.

According to Vega, this forced Fee's 2007 Ford Escape, which was traveling east on Route 70 at the time, to collide with Steward's Acura.
