Shooting Victims in Toms River Have Been Identified

Victims Identified

Nymere Tinsley, 25, of Brick Township, has been named as the victim of the homicide that took place at 1769 Hooper Avenue in Toms River on August 27, 2022, according to an announcement made today by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.

At the site, two additional individuals also had gunshot wounds. They have been identified as 29-year-old Neptune resident Anthony Miller. Miller is still in the hospital, where his status is described as serious but stable. Jamal Bland, 24, of Asbury Park, received medical attention for his wounds before being released.

Prosecutor Billhimer emphasizes the active and ongoing nature of the investigation being conducted by the Toms River Township Police Department, the Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit, and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office High Tech Crime Unit.

No arrests have been announced.

According to the Mayor of Toms River, Top Tier Hookah on Hooper Avenue had to close after a triple shooting there because the township had withdrawn its certificate of occupancy due to many zoning, safety, and code problems.
