Significant Winter Snowstorm Expected in NJ.
The National Weather Service forecast indicates that there is a greater likelihood that New Jersey will have a large snowstorm this weekend, while specifics regarding the amount of snowfall are still unknown.
The meteorological service stated early on Tuesday, "We are monitoring increasing potential for a devastating winter storm across areas of the area this weekend." "There is potential for significant snow accumulations, mainly Saturday night through Sunday, but it is too early to provide specifics."
According to the weather service, the majority of forecast models show a storm forming close to Texas on Friday, then moving up the East Coast into New Jersey.
The main concern is how close the storm tracks to New Jersey, as the mid-Atlantic region is predicted to be on the northern edge of the system.
According to the meteorological service, there is a 40–60% probability of six inches or more of snow in the southern half of New Jersey, with decreasing odds further north.
There is a 60–70% probability of two inches or more of snow in areas south and west of the I-95 corridor.
A possible blizzard is predicted to arrive late on Saturday, last through Sunday, and perhaps last into Monday, depending on the system's speed.
Because variables that will affect the storm's genesis are still thousands of miles away, forecast uncertainty is still quite high.
According to the weather service, it is therefore too early to be certain about the amount of snowfall at any particular site. Check the latest
