Snow Alert: These NJ Towns May See Up to 8 Inches of Snow
The National Weather Service warned Friday afternoon that a storm on Sunday night and Monday could bring up to 8 inches of snow to the Garden State.
Both the south and central regions of our state will benefit from the two rounds of snow that are predicted for New Jersey. For at least the next seven to ten days, and maybe longer, the cold will be here to stay.
Monday is going to be snowy, and it's probably going to be the biggest snowfall in two years, according to
News12 Storm Watch. Although the Arctic air will keep things cold and blustery, Saturday will be the calm in between storms. Daytime highs will be in the teens, while nighttime lows will be in the single digits.
Then Sunday night will bring more snow.
A large number of variables remain unknown. However, depending on how the storm develops, forecasters from the National Weather Service estimate that Central and South Jersey will receive 4 to 6 inches of snow, while the Philadelphia metro area may receive 6 to 8 inches.
The National Weather Service predicts that it will be between 2 and 4 inches in the northern portion of Central Jersey, and less than 2 inches further north.
According to AccuWeather forecasters, the heaviest snowfall is anticipated late Sunday into Monday morning, which could cause difficulties for commuters, especially those in the Philadelphia metro area.
Forecasters predict that it will leave by late Monday. Any snow accumulations we do see are probably going to last for a long time because it will still be extremely cold.
