Snow and Ice Prompt Winter Weather Advisories Across New Jersey

According to the most recent prediction, a fast-moving clipper storm that is passing through New Jersey is expected to provide some snow or freezing rain to some areas of the state on Tuesday as temperatures rise somewhat.

From Tuesday night until two in the morning on Wednesday, Monmouth, Middlesex, Hunterdon, Somerset, Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties have all been placed under a winter weather advisory.

The National Weather Service predicts that freezing rain will leave a thin layer of ice in these places.
"Very slippery sidewalks, roads, and bridges are possible," said to forecasters with the National Weather Service. While people going outside should be cautious of their initial few steps as they may be slick, drivers are advised to slow down and exercise caution when driving.

The good news is that temperatures will begin to rise on Tuesday. The National Weather Service predicts that Tuesday's high will be close to 40 degrees and will remain that way for the remainder of the week.
According to experts, this return to almost typical temperatures for this time of year will continue throughout the next week.

Although specifics are still unknown, it might bring a snow storm this weekend.According to model advice, an area of low pressure is still hitting the eastern seaboard somewhere between Sunday and Monday.

The date, direction, and severity of this system are all uncertain, though, given it is still over a week away, according to National Weather Service forecasters. "That said, it does appear likely there will be at least some precipitation from this system affecting the area late Sunday into early next Monday."
