South Jersey Bank Robbery Leads to Arrest of NJ Man
According to Authorites, a Mount Laurel man was taken into custody by police on suspicion of robbing a Bank of America location on Route 70 in Evesham Township, Burlington County, on Monday. The police also stated that they are looking into connections to other crimes.
According to a statement released by police on Friday,
David Bello, 33, was arrested without incident on Wednesday after an Evesham officer saw a car that fit the suspect's description.
To find out whether the heist is connected to previous crimes, the current investigation is being coordinated with the FBI and other law enforcement organizations, such as the Mount Laurel and Westampton police departments.
A cashier handed over cash after a man gave a note demanding money and threatening violence at 2:43 p.m. Monday, which led to the Bank of America heist. Following the robbery, the individual fled the bank.
According to Evesham police, they promptly erected a perimeter around the bank and provided other law enforcement with the suspect's description. Police say he was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Bello faces charges of second-degree theft and first-degree robbery. Awaiting his initial court appearance, he was detained at
Burlington County Jail. On Friday, Bello's attorney information was not readily accessible.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Evesham Police Department at 856-983-1116.
