South Jersey Tragedy: 22-Year-Old Man Drowns During Swim

On Tuesday, June 10th, a young man drowned while swimming in an industrial park in Gloucester County with his pals.

The individual was recognized by the police as a Swedesboro resident, age 22. His identity is still unknown. In Logan Township, the man and his friends went swimming on Crossroads Boulevard close to Creekview Avenue. According to authorities, he battled to keep afloat before sinking and never coming up again.
Around 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, authorities arrived on the scene. The man's body was discovered from a basin by dive teams around ninety minutes later.

Shortly thereafter, he was declared deceased.

According to authorities, there were no early indications of foul play, but the matter is still being investigated.

It took place on a block of industrial warehouses with basins next to the buildings that face out over Raccoon Creek.

In Gloucester County, this is at least the second occasion in the last month that someone has perished in the water. While working on a home property along Big Timber Creek in Westville a few weeks ago, a worker slipped from an embankment. Later that evening, he was discovered dead in the creek.
