Spielberg Movie To Begin Filming at the Jersey Shore

Filming for Steven Spielberg's latest film is taking place in the tiny towns of Tuckahoe and Woodbine in Cape May County.

A casting call for locals in the Cape May area to be extras for the new film, which is rumored to be about UFOs and stars Emily Blunt, was held in January.

Because the production boosts tourism during the slow winter months, local businesses are enjoying it.

During a normally slow time of year, the production has already benefited numerous local businesses, and it is scheduled to start filming in Cape May County next week.

Even if Spielberg isn't present, people in the small town of Tuckahoe, New Jersey, attend the rehearsals for a major motion picture.

One spectator, who was standing with a friend in the hopes of catching a glimpse of Spielberg, remarked, "This is very exciting because not much exciting happens in Tuckahoe."

Before cameras begin shooting next week, film crews were setting up around the town's tiny train station. Both Tuckahoe and the neighboring town of Woodbine will be used for filming scenes in the UFO movie.

The actors and crew, including Emily Blunt and Wyatt Russell, have been filming in North Jersey.

"I'm not sure why Spielberg chose my borough, but I'm happy about the positive economic impact," Woodbine Mayor William Pikolycky told Fox 29.

According to Pikolycky, it will be the first big film shot at Woodbine since 1964, as reported by OCNJ Daily.

Spielberg, 78, grew up in Haddon Township for a number of years. In his 2022 film "The Fabelmans," which is a fictionalized story of his early years, he describes how "The Greatest Show on Earth" at the Westmont Theatre in Haddonfield ignited his interest in movies.
