Fundraiser for Rudy Diener.
According to a GoFundMe which is organized by Kevin Stewart, this past year has been tremendously challenging for Rudy Diener.
A work related injury led to a number of surgeries.
First, Rudy had to have shoulder surgery, which went well. Rudy was then diagnosed with Arnold Chiari Syndrome or Malformation. This is a very rare condition occurring in only 1 and 1,000 people, most recover without major complications.
Rudy’s condition required surgery to relieve pressure being placed on his spine and brain. After the surgery Rudy suffered a stroke and also contracted Meningitis.
A few weeks later Rudy had to undergo another surgery to implant a permanent shunt in his head to drain fluid building up on the spine after the original surgery.
We thought Rudy was now on the road to recovery. Discussions of returning to work were happening and everyone assumed better days ahead.
Recently Rudy experienced a major setback and was building fluid up on his spinal, the first shunt was not relieving the pressure leading to issues with swallowing, eating, breathing, etc…
Rudy had to undergo another surgery, this time to implant a shunt directly into his spinal canal. He is struggling to do the things many of us take for granted, like walking, talking and eating.
He has a real tough road ahead. If you know Rudy, you know he would give you the shirt off his back. He needs our help. There are financial concerns about insurance coverage, living arrangements and care taking expenses, just everyday basic needs.
Any donation to assist Rudy on his road to recovery is greatly appreciated…
