According to Manchester Police Township, a teenage girl was admitted to the hospital following the Wednesday night collision between a minivan and the minibike she was riding on at Pine Lake Park.

The collision at the junction of Commonwealth Boulevard and Pemberton Street was reported at 6:36 p.m.

According to Capt. Albert Vega, a 14-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl were riding in tandem on a red gas-powered minibike without helmets.
According to him, they were traveling north on Pemberton Street when they ran the stop sign at Commonwealth Boulevard and collided with a gray 2012 Toyota Sienna driven by Lakewood resident Rachel Lew, 36, who was traveling west on Commonwealth Boulevard.

According to him, the girls were flung from the minibike onto the Commonwealth Road.
"The sequence of events leading to the incident was confirmed by multiple witnesses on the site," Vega stated.

He claimed that despite having an ankle injury, the 14-year-old who was operating the bike refused to receive medical attention on the spot.

According to Vega, the 13-year-old had non-life-threatening injuries and was brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

According to Vega, Lew and the two kids in the minivan were unharmed.

He claimed that as police looked into the collision and cleared the road, Commonwealth Boulevard was closed for almost half an hour.

Although Patrolman Anthony DeBlasio is conducting an investigation, Vega stated that the minibike operator's disregard for the posted stop sign looks to be the main contributing reason.

Paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Manchester Township Emergency Medical Services, Hatzolah, and Priced Rite Towing provided assistance at the scene.
