Temperature Plunge Expected in Latest NJ Forecast
This week's sunny, warm weather in portions of the Garden State is expected to be broken up by a dismal storm and an overnight freeze, according to forecasters
According to the
National Weather Service, isolated rain showers are expected to begin after 11 a.m., and this afternoon, thunderclaps could occur. The predicted daytime high is close to 70 degrees, but gusts of up to 15 mph might make it feel more colder.
The meteorological service described the forecast as "a few showers and a rumble of thunder possible," adding that temperatures will drop significantly over night.
Northwest New Jersey is under a freeze watch through Thursday morning as of 9:30 a.m.
The National Weather Service stated in a statement that "crops and other sensitive vegetation will die from freeze and frost conditions." "Temperatures below freezing, potentially as low as 31."
By Wednesday night, the rain is predicted to stop, returning Thursday with bright sky and temperatures in the mid-50s.
AccuWeather predicts that the remainder of the week will be bright and warm, with daytime highs in the 60s and evening lows in the teens.
