Along with the Toms River Police Department, we would like to say thank you and acknowledge Morgan.
This amazing young lady is thirteen years old. It all began when Morgan made the choice to raise money for K9s in honor of her 7th birthday. Since then, she has contributed to the work with groups like
Protecting K9 Heroes, K9 Defender Fund, and Vested Interest in K9s.
Morgan has organized a birthday raising funds each year. To date, she has raised over $20,000 and given numerous trauma kits and safety supplies to K9s in the area and around the nation.
Morgan is one of the six young runners in the county that are affiliated with the Running 4 Heroes group.
A runner from the group is invited to undertake a one-mile memorial run in memory of every first responder who dies while performing their duty. Morgan has traveled more than fifty miles in the last year in remembrance of first responders.
Additionally, Running for Heroes supports a K9 grant program for training supplies, gives $10,000 grants monthly to injured first responders, and donates money to the families of the fallen when it involves little children.
Morgan hopes to work as a K9 law enforcement officer in the future.
