In the past, despite some outrage from forcing employees to work on the holiday, a number of well-known retailers and big-box stores would remain open on Thanksgiving Day in anticipation of Black Friday. A lot of stores and shopping centers have already announced that they will be closed on Thanksgiving Day this year.
