According to the National Weather Service, New Jersey will have rain from late Wednesday into Thursday, most likely after midnight.
Forecasters warned that Thanksgiving morning in parts of New Jersey in the northwest might experience a few hours of rain and light snow before switching to pure rain. Thursday's high temperatures will be in the upper 50s in the south and the mid-40s in the north.
The good news is that winds will be mild for the Thanksgiving Day parades in Philadelphia and New York City. However, the parades will be rainy and cold.
Lows in the 30s are predicted for Thursday night and Friday, along with some cloud cover and frigid temperatures.
"Overall, a damp and dreary day is in the cards with rain, occasionally becoming heavy at times," the National Weather Service predicted for Thanksgiving.
According to
AccuWeather meteorologists, there's a potential the storm will get stronger, which would make the commute treacherous for anybody going on Thanksgiving. Depending on the region of the state, temperatures will range from the mid-40s to nearly 60s, with consistent but sporadic heavy rain.
Rainfall is predicted to be between half an inch and one inch, with the rain tapering off in the late afternoon and evening.
This will bring a dry Black Friday throughout the weekend, but it will be windy and cold.
