The Investigation of a Missing Couple is Taken Over by Detectives and the Ocean County Prosecutor
Authorities have launched a large search for a married pair who traveled into the Pine Barrens on all-terrain vehicles and did not return, according to authorities.
The Stafford Police Department turned the investigation over to its detectives and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office after more than 100 people searched the woods surrounding Lorraine and Gary Parker's Warren Grove house on Wednesday without finding them.
After completing their second day of searching, Stafford police confirmed the news Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, authorities provided additional information about the missing married pair.
The couple's ATV was found Tuesday, according to their daughter's Facebook post and police confirmation.
"As of 8 am my parents quad has been found along with my fathers shotgun which was strapped to it. Still no sign of either of my parents", Lindsay Parker wrote.
The ATV was recovered near the couple's home, according to the police, and only one quad was involved.
Gary Parker, 67, and Lorraine Parker, 60, were last seen on Nov. 17, however a neighbor stated she spoke to Lorraine Parker over the weekend, according to Stafford Township Police Department Capt. James Vaughn.
Attempts to reach Lindsay Parker have not been successful.
Stafford Township Police Department’s Detective Bureau and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office are handling the case.
Anyone with information about the Parkers is asked to call Stafford police 609-597-8581 or Detective Sgt. Neil McKenna at 609-597-1189 x8440.
