Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Ocean County
According to the Naional Weather Service, a severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island until 9 PM EDT.
Thunderstorms were forming just north of the area around 1:45 p.m. Forecasters predicted that during the evening, the storms will spread out and pass over the impacted areas.The storms may bring hail and frequent lighting, but the main concern is damaging wind gusts.
It is advised that residents in the watch region keep an eye on weather reports and be ready to seek cover if alerts are issued.
Much of the region is experiencing hot and muggy weather at the time of the watch, which creates an unstable atmosphere that is conducive to the formation of severe weather. Check the lastest forecast and radar.
