Beginning early March, pickups will happen weekly.
Mayor Maurice B "Mo" Hill announced that the Township has partnered with HELPSY, the largest textile collection company in the Northeast United States, to offer free home pick-up of unwanted clothing and household textiles to residents in an effort to reduce recyclable materials in our waste stream and save taxpayers money.
Pickups will begin in early March and will take place once a week. Online scheduling is available
HERE. After completing an online request form, a driver will be scheduled to pick up on a specific day. Residents should place clean, dry, and bagged goods outside by 7 a.m. on the day of pickup.
In addition to enabling house pickups, the Township has allowed the placement of 20 AMVET clothes collection bins at nine key locations around the area to provide homeowners with convenient access to residents wanting to dispose of textiles in a sustainable manner.
HELPSY will service and maintain the bins, while the municipality will get a rental charge and compensation per pound of clothing collected, which will be put toward other recycling initiatives. A percentage of the revenues will go to AMVET's to assist fund their veteran's initiatives. For a list of bins, see below, or go to
