Robert P. Lamb, a lifelong public servant, defender, and proud 3rd Generation resident of Lavallette, NJ, passed away on May 2, 2025 at the age of 66. His life was defined by courage, service, and his unwavering dedication to family.

Upon his graduation from Point Pleasant Beach High School, Robert served with distinction as a Lavallette Police Officer for over 26 years and firefighter for over 50 years with the Lavallette Volunteer Fire Company, Station 69, started in 1912 by his beloved Latvian grandfather Peter Eagle — roles in which he demonstrated selflessness, integrity, and a commitment to keeping the residents and visitors of Lavallette safe.

He loved bodysurfing off Philadelphia Avenue as the sun set with a good pair of Churchills.

A Third Level Dan in the martial arts form Isshin-Shorinji-Ryu for nearly 50 years, he dedicated his life daily to the pursuit of self-discipline, unrivaled strength, and balance.

Prior to his retirement from police service, he commuted to Connecticut for law school while working midnight shifts. Upon retirement, Robert practiced law and remained serving Lavallette as a Councilman for over 20 years, where he worked tirelessly to support the town he loved. His sharp legal acumen, combined with a lifetime of practical experience in emergency service, brought leadership and a valued perspective daily.

Above all, Robert was a devoted father and friend to all he met. Robert was predeceased by his father James D. Lamb, and his mother Mildred Lamb, nee Eagle.

He is survived by his loving wife Karen of over 35 years and four children, Justin D. Lamb and his wife Ashley, Zachary Lamb and his wife Brianna, Victoria Chester and her husband Mathew, Jillian Lamb and three grandchildren.  He is also survived by his two beloved brothers, Barry and Alan, and a wide circle of relatives, friends, and fellow first responders who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Grand Central Ave., Lavallette, NJ on Saturday, May 10, 2025 3:00pm - 7:00pm.  A funeral service will be offered at 5:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Lavallette Volunteer Fire Company, Station 69.

Robert will be remembered as a man who lived to serve, defend, and uplift others—a legacy that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him and the community he helped shape.
