The Toms River Field of Dreams (TRFOD) is a project with a mission to encourage and engage our communities (Monmouth and Ocean Counties), with a focus on those with special needs, in physical and social activity by building a community complex to provide opportunities for all individuals of all ages all abilities to engage, explore and socialize together.
The TRFOD is revitalizing a 3 acre parcel of Bey Lea Park (North Bay Avenue) with a plan that is designed to benefit individuals of all ages, abilities and needs.

Mary and Christian Kane, co-founders, are proud to announce that through donations from the State of New Jersey with help from Governor Murphy and Councilman Terrance Turnbach, The Ocean County Health Department, The Nancy Lieberman Foundation, and the Toms River Brewing Company in partnership with Todd Frazier have raised 450,000.00 towards the completion of the project.
The TRFOD received a 400,000 grant from the State of New Jersey. This amazing grant was spear-headed by Toms River councilman Terrance Turnbach and fully supported by Governor Phil Murphy in the state’s budget.
The funds will assist in the final payments for the completion of the project by various construction entities. Kids will definitely have fun here. Initial plans were modest: a baseball field that was accessible for wheelchairs for two-inning games. A snack stand. A playground and some miniature golf.
When it opens in October, it will include those items and much more: a walking path with rehabilitative stations; courts for bocce, basketball and shuffleboard; a quiet corner for people to sit and relax, and a temperature-controlled pavilion. They are planning the grand opening for Oct. 2.
The Toms River Brewing Company, located on Route 37 in Toms River and Todd Fazier, former MLB and Olympic baseball player from Toms River have joined forces to create the beer, The Toddfather. Pilsner.
