Toms River Halloween Parade

Fun & Free Family Event

UPDATE: Check Toms River Company #1, for weather updates! Click on the link to see if the parade is a go or a no.

The parade is set for October 31, 2025 at 7:00 PM

It starts near 26 Robbins Street, Toms River, NJ, and will follow the traditional route: starting at Highland Parkway & Main Street, heading south on Main Street (Rt. 166) and then turning onto Washington Street, finishing around Hooper Avenue.

Registration is held the day of the parade, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the firehouse on Robbins Street (between Washington & Water Streets).

If the parade can’t be held on October 31 (due to weather, etc.), there is usually a rain date (often November 1).

There are rules:
  • no walking participants in motorized divisions, and nothing may be thrown from motorized vehicles.
  • Chairs and “space holding” along the parade route: chairs can be placed out the morning of the parade, but must be secured (i.e. tied down) to prevent blowing into the street.
  • Road closures and parking restrictions will be in place — Main Street and Washington Street will have sections closed early, and vehicles must be removed from certain areas by a designated time to avoid towing.

  • Tips to Enjoy It Fully

    1. Arrive Early
Getting there 1–2 hours before the start will help you secure good viewing spots and avoid parking stress.

    2. Dress for the Weather
Nights in late October in New Jersey can get chilly. Layer up and bring a light jacket or blanket.

    3. Costume & Participation
If you plan to march, you *must* register during the 8 AM–4 PM window.
Make sure your costume or float follows the rules (no tossing items from vehicles, etc.).
Bring lights, reflective materials, or glow sticks — it’s nighttime, and visibility helps.

    4. Chair Setup
Place your chairs on the **morning of** the parade, and ensure they’re staked or secured so they don’t shift or cause a hazard.

    5. Parking Plan
Identify nearby parking lots or garages ahead of time (ones off Main Street) and be ready that lots may fill up early.

    6. Be Safe
Watch your kids, stay behind barriers or the curb, and obey instructions from volunteers or security personnel.

    7. Capture and Share
Bring your camera or phone — this is one of the area’s iconic Halloween traditions. You might see some great floats, creative costumes, and spooky displays.
