November 26, 2021
This year's event isn't just a one-night affair. Following Santa's arrival, the courtyard at Town Hall and the library will be transformed into a winter town.
For a weekend, the courtyard between Town Hall and the Ocean County Library will be transformed into a winter wonderland as Toms River celebrates the holiday season with the lighting of its Christmas tree.
The tree lighting will take place on December 3rd, with activities starting at 5 p.m.
Until Santa arrives, there will be music and live entertainment, with the tree lighting at 7 p.m. After that, there will be photos with Santa and sales of hot chocolate and cookies to assist Toms River Volunteer Fire Company 1.
The courtyard will be transformed into a Winter Village on December 4 and 5, with vendors, children's activities, music, and more, according to officials. It will take place on both days from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In addition, a Candy Cane Scavenger Hunt will be held in downtown Toms River from December 4 to December 20. Inside their establishments or in their window displays, downtown merchants will hide a special candy cane.
The website of the Downtown Toms River Business Improvement District will provide further information on the scavenger hunt.
