2022 Boston Marathon

The Boston Marathon will be held on Patriots' Day, a Massachusetts festival commemorating the American Revolutionary War's opening conflicts, for the first time since 2019. Military marchers kick off the day at 6 a.m., followed by multiple waves of competitors starting the race in Hopkinton throughout the morning.
The 2022 Boston Marathon will see 30,000 runners take the starting line on Monday. Four Toms River residents are among those competing in the 126th running of the marathon.
