Toms River, Seaside Men Charged In Bergen County Robbery

Anthony Naso and Nicholas Polimeni

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office announced Friday that a Toms River man and a Seaside Heights man are charged with robbery, conspiracy, and impersonating police enforcement in connection with a robbery in East Rutherford in September 2020.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Anthony Naso, 27, of Seaside Heights, and Nicholas Polimeni, 27, of Toms River, were arrested after an 18-month investigation into the crime.

In the heist that occurred Sept. 11, 2020, Polimeni, a tile worker, was detained Tuesday and Naso, a financial adviser, was arrested Wednesday, Musella said.

Authorities did not specify the location of the robbery, only that it took place in East Rutherford and that two individuals had been identified as suspects. Patch has asked for more information regarding the robbery.

Polimeni was apprehended at his residence, while Naso was apprehended in Paramus, according to Musella.

According to him, both have been charged with robbery in the second degree, conspiracy to conduct robbery, and fourth-degree impersonating police enforcement.

Authorities said the investigation was assisted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigation Squad, the East Rutherford Police Department, and the Toms River Police Department.
