Toms River Tragedy: Honoring the Lives of a Cherished Pair

A couple who lost their lives Tuesday after being struck by a car on Fischer Boulevard are being remembered as kind, compassionate individuals who brought happiness to everyone.

As they were crossing near Hazelwood Road just before 7 p.m., one day last week, Craig Parson, 72, and Debra Wright, 68, were struck by a car driven by Sholto Roach, 18, of Toms River, killing them, according to police.
According to police, they passed away from their wounds after being brought to the Community Medical Center in Toms River.

In a GoFundMe campaign created to assist with the cost of their funeral, the family members wrote, "It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that we share the tragic loss of Debra Wright and Craig Parson."

"Debra and Craig were kind, compassionate, and loving people who made everyone they came into contact with happy and bright. Their friends, family, and everyone who knew them are deeply saddened by their sudden death," the family said.

Contributions to the GoFundMe can be made here.
