Throughout the event High School East will also be raffling off various types of gift baskets in which all proceeds will go to Project Rainbow, benefiting a local family and staff member at High School East.

This family recently found out their daughter has been diagnosed with Leukodystrophies which is a group of rare neurological (nervous system) diseases that affect the white matter in the brain and spinal cord. Leukodystrophies target myelin, which is the protective insulation covering the nerve cells. Without myelin, nerves can’t communicate well. This lack of communication leads to a progressive loss of neurological function since the brain and the body can’t receive signals from each other. There is no cure for these diseases and they are often fatal. The family has been selected as a candidate for treatment out in Minnesota and they will be heading out there shortly.

High School East will also be accepting can goods to support their annual food drive.
