During an investigation, detectives found amphetamine pills, crack cocaine, and cash from two Brick Township men, police said Thursday.
Frank J. Russo Jr., 67, and Matthew J. Russo, 38, were arrested at the Wawa on Drum Point Road on Wednesday following an investigation sparked by a white Honda drifting in and out of its lane on Drum Point, according to Brick Sgt. Jim Kelly.
Kelly said the Honda was seen failing to maintain its lane at 9:30 p.m. before pulling into the Wawa at 383 Drum Point Road by detectives from the police department's Street Crimes Unit. The two people in the car walked into the business, and Brick K-9 Officer Scott Smith arrived while they were there, according to Kelly.
According to him, an indeterminate amount of amphetamine tablets, crack cocaine, paraphernalia, and a considerable sum of money were discovered at the location during the inquiry.
The driver, Frank Russo, was charged with crack cocaine distribution, possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and motor vehicle summonses, while Matthew Russo was charged with possession of amphetamine pills and possession of paraphernalia.
Both have warrants out for their arrest and are being held at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.
According to Kelly, the money was seized in accordance with asset forfeiture rules.
