Tragic Accident Claims Life of Pedestrian in Toms River
Records from the New Jersey State Police indicate that a pedestrian was struck and killed on Fischer Boulevard on Saturday night.
According to state police records and the
Ocean County Sheriff's Office, which issued an alert regarding the closure at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Saturday, the incident occurred on the southbound side of Fischer Boulevard at 8 p.m.
The sheriff's office said that the collision occurred near
Overlook Drive. How long the shutdown had been in effect was unclear.
A pedestrian was killed about 8 p.m. on Saturday on Fischer Boulevard, which is County Route 549, according to the state police database of fatal crashes.
