Tragic Accident Claims Life of Woman Struck by NJ Transit Bus

Authorities claimed that a 30-year-old woman died early on Monday after being hit by a NJ Transit bus in East Orange. According to Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II, Eva Malcom of Newark was struck at around six in the morning by a bus that turned right onto Freeway Drive East from Evergreen Place.

According to Stephens, Malcom needed to be rescued because she was stuck beneath the bus. After being brought to University Hospital in Newark, she passed away there.
The bus driver remained on the scene. No charges have been filed, and the death is under investigation, according to police.
