Tragic ATV Accident Claims Life of 28-Year-Old from Ocean County

According to Jackson Township Police Department, On April 19, 2025, around 6:18 PM, law enforcement officers were sent to a rural trail area referred to as the Clayton Pits, situated behind the Pine Barrens Golf Course along South Hope Chapel Road, to respond to a significant ATV accident involving one rider.

An initial investigation has revealed that a 28-year-old male operator, Brandon Orozco-Avila from Toms River, was riding his ATV on the dirt trails at the specified location when he lost control of the vehicle.

This loss of control led him to veer off the trail and into a densely wooded area, where he collided with several trees. As a result of the accident, Mr. Orozco-Avila suffered fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

As a result, several agencies have been notified or involved in the response and investigation including the Ocean County Sheriff's Department Criminalistics Investigation Unit, and the Ocean County Medical Examiner.
