Tragic Collision on New Jersey Turnpike Claims Four Lives

According to New Jersey State Police, a wrong-way collision on the New Jersey Turnpike early Sunday claimed four lives and injured another.

The collision happened on the southbound side, close to milemarker 1.3 in Carneys Point, at approximately 12:42 a.m.

Christopher Neff, 41, of Westminster, Colorado, struck a Mazda SUV in the left inner lane while operating a Dodge pickup truck north in the southbound lanes.
Following the collision between the two cars, a Freightliner tractor trailer in the right lane behind the Mazda struck it.

Three people were killed, according to police: Chaim Grossman, 18, of Fallsburg, New York; Aharon Lebovits, 18, of Lakewood; and Shlomo Cohen, 18, of Lakewood. Yaakov Kilberg, 19, of Lakewood, was the driver of the Mazda.

According to authorities, Neff suffered "serious injuries." Harpret Singh Sandhu, 29, of Nova Scotia, was the tractor trailer's driver; he was unharmed. The Yeshiva World reports that the four individuals killed were Yeshiva students who were on a school break.
According to New Jersey State Police, the crash is still being investigated.
