According to Herbertsville Fire Company, a family of five was displaced and their pet dog was killed when a two-alarm fire destroyed their Brick Township home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

The family was not at the house on Chelsea Drive, off Sally Ike Road, when the fire broke out. According to the acquaintance, Luna, the family's mixed-breed dog, passed away.
According to Richard Orlando, assistant chief of the Brick Bureau of Fire Safety, a second alarm was raised to summon additional firemen after the fire was discovered just after nine in the morning.

From the Garden State Parkway, smoke from the fire was visible.
