Tragic Incident: Man Struck and Killed by Cars on Garden State Parkway

A man exited a moving vehicle on the Garden State Parkway in Middletown on Friday night and was subsequently struck by several other vehicles, resulting in his death, according to a statement from the New Jersey State Police on their Facebook page.

The deceased individual has been identified as 33-year-old Jose Cerda-Estevez from Plainfield, New Jersey. Authorities reported that none of the vehicles involved in the incident stopped to render assistance.

The New Jersey State Police are requesting the public's help in their investigation of this fatal hit-and-run incident that took place on the Garden State Parkway in Middletown Township, Monmouth County.
At 5:58 p.m. on Friday, a Honda Pilot was proceeding southbound in the Parkway express lanes close to milepost 112.8. During the vehicle's movement, the front-seat passenger exited and was subsequently struck by several unidentified vehicles that did not stop at the scene, according to police reports.
