According to East Windsor Police Department last week, a motorist backed out of a parking space in East Windsor, killing one Princeton resident and injuring another, according to authorities on Thursday.
On November 7, at around 5:38 p.m., a 94-year-old Monroe man tried to pull out of a parking space as two people were passing through the
Town Center Plaza parking lot at 319 Route 130 North.
According to East Windsor police, he hit the two pedestrians with his automobile after inadvertently pressing the acceleration pedal rather than the brake.
Days after being transported to a nearby hospital, Princeton resident
Semra Ozkaya, 68, passed away from her wounds, according to authorities.
At
Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Engin Ozkaya, 39, the other pedestrian, received treatment for non-life-threatening wounds.
According to police, the 94-year-old man was given a motor vehicle summons for reckless driving after it was discovered that he was driving his car in an unsafe manner.
The investigation is still ongoing.
