Elk Township Police Chief Lance Hitzelberger said the man accidentally drowned, as determined by the Gloucester County Medical Examiner's Office.

According to a news release from the chief, the man was taken from the lake to Mullica Hill's Inspira Hospital, where he was declared deceased.

According to the announcement, the victim's identity is being kept secret until the family is notified.
