Tragic Incident: Three-Year-Old Drowns in Pool

According to Toms River Police Department, a three-year-old child had passed away on Wednesday night after being pulled out from a backyard swimming pool.

The youngster was given CPR while being transported to Community Medical Center, but according to the police, the child did not survive.

While the child was being transferred, Toms River police reportedly closed down junctions along Route 37 between Fischer Boulevard and the hospital, according to several radio scanner sites.

According to Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little, Fire Chief Travis Veth was on the site in thirty seconds after the 911 call, and paramedics from RWJ Barnabas Health also responded.

Little confirmed that the youngster was taken to the hospital by Brick Township EMS because RWJ Barnabas paramedics arrived in an SUV and lacked the necessary equipment to transport while performing CPR.

According to police, the investigation is being handled by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
